There’s nothing like a great and healthy sandwich to help the body recover after an intense workout.
If lm not working out in the morning, my breakfast consists of 2 cups of cooked oatmeal, 2 slices of whole what bread, and Fuji apple. If I am working out however, the morning menu undergoes a slight transformation.
I present the Post Workout Morning Sandwich. It contains a heaping dose of healthy protein, healthy carbohydrates, a nice helping of fiber, and good fats to help you start the day right.

It’s a gutsy move on Starbuck’s part. Since the company is seen as a premium coffee and food provider, there might be some slight risk in ‘cheapening’ the brand.

I prefer the Hakubaku brand of organic soba. Each 3.1 oz serving contains about 12 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, and a negligible amount of sodium. When paired with a cup of yogurt, I can provide my body with 20 grams of protein first thing in the morning. Not bad at all.

There’s a reason why your child is bouncing off the walls in the morning hours of the day. I was watching the Today Show this morning before I left for work and there was a segment on the amount of sugar in breakfast cereals that many children and adults eat for breakfast. In a new Consumer Reports study, 11 out of the 27 breakfast cereals that were analyzed were found to contain at least 40 percent of sugar by weight. That’s comparable to the amount of sugar in a Dunkin’ Donuts glazed doughnut. What shocked me were the two cereals that contained over 50% of sugar by weight. Those would be Post Golden Crisp and Kellogg’s Honey Smacks. However, there are several healthy alternatives to the sugar-laced breakfast choices, and those are, Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Kix, and Life.

I was also found that about 58% of adults who participated in the study ate cereals that are marketed to children. Honestly, I don’t find this shocking as adults were once children afterall, and most of the popular sugary cereals have been around for quite a long time.

I also found it amusing that children tend to pour more sugary cereals into their bowls and eat more. What do you expect? It’s like giving the kid free candy.
