There’s about six inches of snow outside right now.  I had no idea it was supposed to snow today.  I woke up at 6AM, looked out the window, and like a kid hoping for a snow day, ran to my laptop to check my work email.  Our senior manager sent out an e-mail telling us to stay home.  Snow day!  I do have to do some work though, so it’s not a free day what-so-ever.  It sure beats commuting.
The fluffy flakes of snow reminded me of shaved coconut meat, …

Up in Vermont this past weekend, a handful of people were playing this game called ‘Chubby Bunny.’ Apparently, it’s a well-known game around campfires where a person says the phrase, “Chubby Bunny” with increasing amounts of marshmallows being stuffed in the mouth. The person who manages to say the phrase with the most amount of marshmallows in the mouth wins. From what I saw, the game can get pretty messy, so please, remember to bring napkins.

Last year, I was addicted to an after work snack of cake rusk and milk tea. It was a ritual of one of my roommates and I joined in on his tradition.
He told me it was a popular combination in India and that it was one of the things he enjoyed most after coming home from work. Oh, the little things that make us happy, isn’t that what life is about?
I no longer have this snack, as I’ve cut out sugary and white flour products from …

My coworker was lucky enough to get the piece of cake with the baby doll.  The baby doll represents baby Christ.  Whoever gets the baby doll is said to have good luck and prosperity for the rest of the year, and is also responsible for purchasing next year’s King Cake.  I had no idea the doll was so tiny.  I took a picture of it sitting on my iPod mini for scale.  I see it now, the doll stuck up a toddler’s nose, never to be found again.
Dancing Baby, haha.  It …

My friend brought me back a jar of Airborne brand Manuka honey from her New Zealand Trip.  This ain’t no honey bear honey.  It has been touted to hold powerful medicinal properties like fighting common cold symptoms, psoriasis, ulcers, burns, and so much more.  It also tastes mighty good.

I was at my friend’s place yesterday for some Rock Band action.  He brought out a box and inside were packages of Dale and Thomas gourmet popcorn.  There were four different flavors in the box, but since I’m allergic to nuts, three of the flavors were out.  The only flavor left was Troy Aikman’s Halftime Chili and Sour Cream.  It didn’t sound too appetizing, but I decided to give it a taste.
Flavor explosion. That’s how i’m describing it.  I’m not a fan of popcorn, but this was good stuff.  I …

Today, king cake parties start on the twelfth day after Christmas and continue until the first day of Lent, ending of Fat Tuesday, better known as Mardi Gras. Instead of a bean, pea, or coin, a baby doll representing the Christ child is hidden in the cake. Whoever gets the doll baby doll will receive good luck and prosperity for the rest of the year, and has to buy the cake for the following year.
My manager brought one in to work today and everyone was trying their best to …
