My company sent me away for IT risk management training for a few days, so with the studying and the commuting, I haven’t been able to post much this week.  Intersate 80 traffic was horrible, the parking was horrible, and the complimentary food was horrible.  The class?  It wasn’t at all horrible, except for that exam at the very end.
I’ll be working on some posts tomorrow after work and during the weekend, so there will be something fresh for you to read on Monday while you are at work.

The folks at PETA have rolled out their own online version of Cooking Mama just in time for Thanksgiving.  It’s an odd way to spread awareness of the cruelty that turkeys go through before they end up at the dinner table.  I have to admit, I found the game to be amusing and fun.  Do a good job and you’ll be awarded a bonus level.  So go ahead and make your turkey dinner without the real mess of cooking one.

When you pop one of those delicious gummy bears in your mouth, just remember, there’s more than meets the eye. As made evident by artist Jason Freeny, you are a heartless human being. There’s more than just sugar and gelatin inside those innocent, sweet, and chewy gummy bears. As you can see, they are just like us. And knowing that most of you chew on multiple gummy bears at a single time…well thats makes you as much of an animal as the bears.

Check out Jason’s Website here for his artwork.

A couple of my friends organized a chicken nugget eating contest two weeks ago and today was the day where 6 wanna-be professional eaters met up at a local Wendys for the nugget showdown.  The winner received a year’s worth of bragging rights, hours of indigestion, elevated blood pressure, and a trophy a mother hen would be proud of.  My good buddy emerged victorious after stuffing 67 nuggets down his gullet.  The runner up finished with a close 65, and third place managed to throw down 62.  I wish I …

I went to the allergist today for part two of my allergy test:  food allergies.  I took a blood test last Tuesday to test for shellfish/fish and a skin prick test today for common food allergens.  I had more food allergies than I had initally thought, and what’s even more peculiar, I tested negative for foods I thought I was still allergic to (crab, lobster, peanuts).  During the consultation with my doctor, we went over the list of food and what I was allergic to.
So here are my results:
Fruit – …

A buddy of mine sent this to me in an email today. There’s a place in Phoenix, Arizona where people go to eat and potentially die. After all the place is called the Heart Attack Grill, and it’s the home of the Double Bypass Burger. The slogan, a “Taste Worth Dying For!” means the health conscious need not visit. The pictures should be self explanatory. Thanks Brian.

Hmmm…how many calories?

I woke up around 4AM this morning for work.  My colleagues overseas are working on a project and I’m just making sure everything is running on schedule.  When I woke up, I was extremely hungry, more so than when I wake up at the usual time.  Seeing that I’m working remotely and I do have a lot of time before I go into the office, I decided to make an omelet.  I didn’t have much to work with in the fridge, so I just used  onions, scallions, and spinach to …

I haven’t been posting because my laptop started to act funny last week. Today it seemed to take its last breathe. While I did back up most of my files to an external hard drive…it looks like I won’t be able to recover a number of important files. I’ll see if I can repair it, but it’s not booting up beyond the BIOS and it looks like one of the colors on the LCD is burned out. Maybe it’s time for a Mac, I was never a …

I’m at the Japanese market, Mitsuwa, looking to buy a few grocery items. But instead, I find myself in the middle of the food court enjoying the beef curry udon soup that’s pictured below. Damn these temptations.
