After a long day at the NY Renaissance Festival on Saturday, me and my friends were hungry, and we did not feel like dining out.  So we decided to buy groceries and dined-in instead.

I spent Memorial Day weekend in Lakeville, Connecticut with a bunch of friends on a “camping” trip.  We had access to sleeping mats, indoor plumbing, and showers, so it wasn’t exactly a real camping trip, but it was good times none-the-less.  I don’t think I’m ready for bear attacks…yet.  Nothing says Memorial Day like a big group BBQ.  The menu?  Chicken, pork chops, burgers, and hot dogs.  Did anyone remember what happened between 1am and 3am on Sunday night?

A surprise birthday party was thrown for a friend of mine on Saturday night. I think he had a minor heart attack when we all yelled surprise right after he turned on the lights. The birthday cake was the three-layer 9-inch Red Velvet cake from the well-known Magnolia Bakery in New York City. I thought it was a little dry, but the frosting balanced it out very well. I had friends over on Saturday to celebrate my 27th birthday party. Lots of good people, lots of food, and lots of wine. You can’t ask for more than that. The invitation says to arrive at the restaurant at 7pm. The time was 7.35pm and the sign in cloth was nowhere to be found. The cameraman and photographer went for dinner. Guests were arriving and could not sign in nor give their gifts because the person in charged of collection was late. It was a chaotic and the loud music played by the DJ did not help the situation. But in the end, it all worked out and the party was on!
