In South Los Angeles, 73% of the restauarants are fast food. The convenience of these foods, which is causing unhealthy weight and health problems has led the City Council to approve a moratorium to ban fast food for a year. This is done in hope that residents will seek healthier food alternatives and to attract grocery stores, produce markets, and restaurants with wait staffs into the area. First trans fats, now fast food, what’s next?
