If you had a choice between eating potato chips or pork rinds, which one would you choose? Instinctively, I would choose the potato chips. It turns out that between the two items, the pork rinds are actually the healthier alternative. The misconception that rinds are bad for you have definitely hurt its reputation. Compared to an ounce of potato chips, pork rinds contain no carbohydrates, 9 times the protein (17 grams), and less fat. Besides pork rinds, the following foods also have a bad rep.
- Alcohol
- Beef jerky
- Sour cream
- Coconut
- Chocolate bars
It’s time to put these myths to rest! Click here for more information for each one of the listed items.
