Eating buffalo chicken wings is a messy ordeal, but it’s worth it.  My recipe isn’t anything out of the ordinary, in fact, it’s pretty easy and basic.

Buffalo Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 1 Package of chicken wingettes (10-12 pcs)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 3 Tsp of butter
  • 5 Tsp of hot sauce (I use Frank’s Hot Sauce)
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Bleu cheese dressing (optional)
  • Celery (optional)

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.  Line a metal baking p  an w/ foil and coat with cooking spray.  Sprinkle a couple dashes of salt and pepper onto the chicken and coat evenly.  Transfer the chicken to the baking sheet, make sure the pieces are not touching one another.  Coat the chicken with some non-stick cooking spray, this will help the chicken brown and crisp up.  Depending on the size of the chicken, the baking time can vary from 25 to 35 minutes.  Make sure the internal temperature of the chicken is around 170 degrees and juices run clear.

While the chicken is baking, prepare the sauce.  In a small sauce pan over low heat, melt the butter and then add the hot sauce.   Mix well.  If the sauce isn’t thick enough for you, add in a pinch of flour and stir for a minute.  If the sauce isn’t hot enough, add more to your liking.

Transfer the sauce to a large mixing bowl, add the cooked chicken and toss to coat.

Serve with bleu cheese and celery sticks.  And don’t forget the beer!
