I was making chili for tomorrow’s big game, and something unforeseen happened. I love eating next day chili because all the spices and other flavors are absorbed into the ingredients. I was opening a can of diced tomatoes when the handle broke off 3/4 of the way through. I freaked out. First, a long “Nooooooooooooo!” came out, followed by a few choice profanities. I still had a can of tomato sauce to open and two cans of kidney beans. I managed to reattach the handle, but when I tried to open the can of tomato sauce, it broke off again, and I only had made a slight opening. I was able to drip the sauce out in a minute and a half. I didn’t even try opening the two cans of beans, and it’s gonna be a lonely night for the chili without those beans. It looks like I’ll be heading out to the market tomorrow for a new can opener.

We’re just two friends living in the New York City area who enjoy food. No, we’re not chefs, but we do love to cook and we do love to eat. On this blog, we will be posting random food thoughts, food news, food recipes, basically anything we find interesting relating to food, we’ll post!
We welcome you as a fellow foodie to our blog!

Go get an electrical can opener. We bought one for like $20 when we literally came off the boat (that was 14 years ago)and we are still using the same old one w/o any trouble.
