Boon sent me this article last week, and I love the story behind it. At the age of 64, banking executive Joe Orner gave up his day job and went to culinary school. Even though he spent over 35 years in the banking industry, he only stayed in it to send his kids to college and to purchase a house, it was never his passion. Now at 68 years of age, he’s the executive chef at the Los Angeles Yacht Club. This is a great example of how you’re never too old to pursue what you really want to do. Even though he earns 70% less pay as a chef, works longer hours, and has a more physically demanding role, he’s not planning on retiring. I don’t know him, yet I’m so proud of him. Full article here.
