Everyone has their own cooking style and I’ve been wondering what my style is for a long time. Many of the dishes I create have an Asian flare to them. I guess that’s because, well, I’m Asian and I grew up working in a Chinese restaurant. I don’t try to make Asian-inspired dishes, the ideas just come out of the blue and I do my best to create what I’m visualizing. A lot of my dishes are also simple to make, so I guess my style is minimalisticly Asian-influenced, w/ an emphasis on presentation. Yes, I know, minimalisticly is not a word. I wonder if my cooking style defines who I am. If a culture can be defined by its food, why can’t a person be defined by his or her cooking style?
Random thought: I wonder, does food that’s presented well actually taste better? Who knows. It might be a nice research topic to look into.
