I have a 20-page paper due tomorrow, but I’d much rather post.  I had some friends over on Saturday for a cooking and dinner gathering. We watched ‘Le Grand Chef’ while we were eating, and it definitely heightened the dinner and movie experience.  Watch a cooking movie while you eat, it’s quite entertaining.

A few days before the event, I was deciding on what to cook, and something occurred to me. When you’re throwing a dinner event, stick with what you know. The day of the event isn’t the time to experiment with a new dish. There’s a higher risk of ‘messing up the dish,’ and if it doesn’t come out right, it goes straight to the trash.  Dishes cooked for the first time can come out good, but not great, as there’s always room for refinement. If you really do want to serve something new, test it out a few days before hand, so you can work out the kinks.

We finished up the night with some Rock Band action.  Hotness.
