As I was browsing Gizmodo, a very interesting article about a prototype compact cooker caught my attention. Dubbed the “Single Person Cooker” or SPC, the product is a prototype by Alex Bradley , a young designer from the UK. According to www.dezeen.com, the SPC is a “a compact cooker prototype for people living alone that combines a hob, chopping board, utensils and a WiFi-enabled screen so that users can call up recipes from the internet.”

SPC was designed to enter the Concept Products competition organized by the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show, which takes place at Earls Court in London from March 14th through April 6th.

You can read more about SPC on: http://www.dezeen.com/2008/03/09/single-person-cooker-by-alex-bradley/

Apart from the minimalistic concept that Alex introduced through SPC, the WiFi enabled screen is a fantastic idea. Imagine if you could not only retrieve recipes from the web but also be able to download and watch re-runs of “Top Chef” while you cook. Voilà, who knew technology and food can be this much fun?
