My parents took me out to dinner on Saturday for my promotion. I of course requested that we go stuff our faces with sushi and sashimi. We went to our favorite Japanese restaurant called Mikado in South Jersey. The food is good, the ambience is nice, and the prices are fair. I took the pictures with my camera phone, so they’re not as clear as my usual pics.

First Course: Hamachi Hama - Grilled Yellow-Tail Neck (Should’ve ordered two of these!)

Second Course: Sashimi (tuna, salmon, scallops, white tuna, Japanese red snapper, sea urchin, and some others)

Second Course: Octopus

Third Course: Japanese Mackerel, the rest of the fish is fried and eaten

4th Course: Sashimi and Tempura Rolls

Fifth Course: Wasabi Tobiko
I also like to come to this place because they put an effort in presentation as well. As father always says, “Your eyes always eat first.” That quote of his has always been stuck in my head ever since he first told me years and years ago. I’m still craving some more grilled Hamachi neck. *Drool*
If you live in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area, check out Mikado.
